Georgia State University Part 1

  • :01 to 1:21 - entrance, currently under renovation, scan of entire area, including: av/media, blue chairs, service desk, silver stool, workstations, security guard
  • 1:22 to 2:05 – now on tour with director, staff lounge area, lots of glass
  • 2:10 to 3:43 – close up of terrazzo (?) floor in hallway (they had installation problems), study carrels (nice, but not the style they decided on, close up of carpet
  • 3:44 to 4:40 – big words on the walls that we liked “QUIET STUDY”, also close-up of the “crushed can” used as foot rest, book rest, etc..
  • 4:41 to 6:52 – hallway to area where library liaisons lived, tall cubicle walls, trade-offs were made about size of cubicle versus a view, consultation rooms for meetings, kitchen area, mail, etc.
  • 6:53 to 8:18 – panorama of AV/Media area (see 001 to 121 for more footage), green stripped chairs, blue chairs, note: rocking chairs and floors were made of recycled tires
  • 8:19 to 10:20 – walk through of two group use media rooms with plasma monitors, nifty speakers, etc. not yet fully furnished, CIRC/MEDIA sign, floor directory
  • 10:20 to 10:49 – walk outside to get to main entrance
  • 10:50 to 11:41 – enter at the main entrance with scan of floor: big IM sign, floor directory, stand-up terminals, blue bench, rubber rockers
  • 11:42 to 12:31 – more scanning of the floor: new center staircase, display cases with built in seating, display cases with built in plasma monitors, library classroom 1
  • 12:32 to 13:00 – restaurant style booths – green, also blue bench
  • 13:01 to 13:40 – permanent exhibit area
  • 13:41 to 15:14 – interior of library classroom #1 – 51 workstations, comfy, but inexpensive chairs, raised floor, Toni laughing!
  • 15:15 to 15:40 – more restaurant style booth, displays, and the children’s area

  • 0:01 to 2:02 – scan of the 1st floor: restaurant style booths, interfiled periodicals, tables, chairs, study carrels, microfiche collection
  •  2:03 to 4:29 – scan going up the new grand staircase to the 2nd floor: all of 2is on a raised floor, duo of blue chairs, 3 seater workstations with privacy dividers, consultation room, reference desk (with a little sign saying ‘computer’ help), tall printer sign (nice) learning commons
  •  4:30 to 6:15 – on the “new bridge” still under construction, but you can already see it will be beautiful, all glass group study rooms, will add tables, chairs, and comfy furniture
  • 6:15 to 7:47 – group study rooms with all types of furnishings
  • 7:48 to 8:43 – library classroom 2
  •  8:44 to 9:11 – scan of 2nd floor: hanging lamp, signage, study tables
  •  9:12 to 10:36 – stacks, some compact moveable, some compact manual, some regular
  • 10:37 to 11:37 – empty floor, under construction, opposite side of the bridge
  • 11:37 to 11:54 – signage in stairwell
  • 11:55 to 12:47 – huge study table, manual compact shelves, us standing, sitting, wandering
